Other ways of contact
There are more ways to stay in touch with people than email.
We need a button to let the system know that we've had a contact with someone in the list: phone, visit, social network message, ...

You can change the last time that you spoke with someone by logging into the site and clicking on their "Last Contact" field.. it will drop down and you can indicate when you recently contacted them.
